Como Juan Carlos Almonacid fue identificado el reo que falleci\u00f3 la tarde de este s\u00e1bado en la c\u00e1rcel de Punta Arenas, quien portaba al interior de su cuerpo un ovoide que supuestamente conten\u00eda coca\u00edna.
El hombre de 39 a\u00f1os, apodado \u00abChico Cano\u00bb, hab\u00eda (a eso de las 13:23 horas) solicitado atenci\u00f3n en la celda del m\u00f3dulo A del recinto penal de calle Circunvalaci\u00f3n, debido a que sent\u00eda fuertes dolores abdominales. Ya en el \u00e1rea de enfermer\u00eda del complejo su estado se fue haciendo m\u00e1s complicado, perdiendo el conocimiento. Personal de Gendarmer\u00eda intent\u00f3 estabilizarlo, solicitando la concurrencia del SAMU. Sin embargo, a la llegada s\u00f3lo pudieron constatar el deceso (13:46 horas). M\u00e1s tarde, sus compa\u00f1eros internos aseguraron que Almonacid hab\u00eda ingerido ovoides con droga. La PDI se hizo cargo de la investigaci\u00f3n.
Almonacid hab\u00eda sido ingreso al penal magall\u00e1nico en junio del a\u00f1o pasado, luego que fuera detenido y formalizado tras dos violentos asaltos en Punta Arenas, durante la misma madrugada. En ambos ingres\u00f3 a domicilios para sustraer especies y agredir a los propietarios. El primero un hombre que recibi\u00f3 golpes y pu\u00f1aladas; la segunda, una mujer que tambi\u00e9n fue agredida.
Adem\u00e1s, al momento de su detenci\u00f3n se constat\u00f3 que Almonacid manten\u00eda una orden de detenci\u00f3n vigente de 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
