Da\u00f1os millonarios al casco hist\u00f3rico de la ciudad, derrumbes en rutas y el p\u00e1nico propio que produce un movimiento tel\u00farico que alcanz\u00f3 los 6.7 grados Richter, fue parte del panorama que se vivi\u00f3 la noche de s\u00e1bado en La Serena.
\nEl saldo preliminar de da\u00f1os son 30 casas que resultaron afectadas, dando menci\u00f3n especial a cuatro viviendas que se inundaron por el colapso de un canal en el sector de Las Rojas. La catedral de la ciudad qued\u00f3 con serios destrozos en su fachada y con inminente ca\u00eddas de bloques en posibles replicas. El monumento hist\u00f3rico ya hab\u00eda quedado con secuelas tras el terremoto del 2015. La iglesia San Francisco tambi\u00e9n qued\u00f3 perjudicada producto del sismo.
